Tracy Loew is a senior reporter at the Statesman Journal in Salem, Oregon, where she covers science and the environment for the newspaper. She also spent a decade as the Oregon correspondent for USA Today. Her work has prompted new state and local legislation, forced financial audits, caused contracts to be rebid and resulted in the resignation of several school district superintendents. She has received awards from the Scripps Howard Foundation and the Education Writers Association, Best of Gannett and twice with the Bruce Baer Award, Oregon’s top award for investigative reporting.
