Partnerships

Our primary partnerships involve two journalism groups and a university:

  • Investigative Reporters and Editors: The Kiplinger Program typically provides training annually at two or three IRE Better Watchdog Workshops. Sessions have been held in Johnson City, Tenn.; Memphis; Salt Lake City; Scranton, Pa., Columbus, and Toronto. Kiplinger has been a routine presenter at IRE national conferences.
  • Society of Professional Journalists: As a sponsor and collaborator on SPJ JournCamp regional workshops, the Kiplinger Program provides funding and training for one or two events annually. Kiplinger has partnered with SPJ for camps in San Diego, Miami and New York City and points in between.
  • Ohio University: The university has housed the program since February 2019 but the Kiplinger Program’s relationship with the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism and the College of Communication goes back further. Kiplinger based in The school of journalism. Prior to moving to OU, Kiplinger was associated with Ohio State University for 47 years. The program moved when the Kiplinger benefactors felt the program needed more support and appreciation.

How to Partner

Join forces with us to provide high-caliber training. Maybe it’s a joint workshop. Or a Kiplinger Program speaker at a national journalism conference. We even partner with individual newsrooms to provide customized training on social media, data journalism and ethics.
